The website and phone app for Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) appears to have been restored after going down.
Users were still able to open the service, but were faced with a message reading “welcome to your timeline”, instead of the usual feed of posts.
Spaces, where people can take part in voice chat debates, remained functional.
Tens of thousands of reports were filed on DownDetector.
Posts from users on their own profiles were also not showing up on the site and app.
However, the platform did appear to allow users to continue posting, despite them not showing up.
#TwitterDown began trending shortly after 6am.
Users of X Pro, which replaced Tweetdeck, also reported issues using the service.
Elon Musk bought the platform for $44bn (£33.6bn) deal last year, and renamed it from Twitter to X.
