Subaru announced prices for the new and improved 2026 Solterra EV on Thursday. Despite significant upgrades, including added range, power, an NACS port for recharging at Tesla Superchargers, and more, the upgraded Solterra still starts at just $38,495, the same as the outgoing model.
2026 Subaru Solterra prices and driving range by trim
The all-new 2026 Solterra, Subaru’s electric crossover SUV, will begin arriving at U.S. dealerships this fall with improvements in nearly every aspect.
Powered by a new 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, the 2026 model now has an estimated driving range of up to 288 miles. That’s a pretty significant jump from the EPA-estimated 227 miles range in the outgoing Solterra, which had a 72.8 kWh battery.
All 2026 Solterras are equipped with an updated version of Subaru’s signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system. The system offers “best-in-class” ground clearance of 8.3″.
The new dual-motor system features an improved drive controller to optimize power distribution in slippery conditions. With Subaru’s X-Mode Dual-Mode System, you can toggle between Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud modes for better traction. It also includes Grip Control and Downhill Assist control.

The new 2026 Solterra EV includes a host of Subaru EyeSight driver-assistance features, including lane keep assist, smart braking, and throttle control.
Based on a new platform, the new electric crossover SUV provides a quieter and more confident driving experience. Compared to the outgoing EV model, the 2026 Subaru Solterra features an improved AWD system, a new front subframe, a fine-tuned suspension, enhanced battery protection, and more.

The 2026 Subaru Solterra debuts the brand’s updated design, which includes a new EV lightning signature, an illuminated six-star logo, redesigned headlights and tailamps, and a new rear spoiler.
Inside, all 2026 Solterra trims feature an all-new 14″ touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

With a North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port, all 2026 Solterra models will have access to over 15,000 Tesla Superchargers. Subaru has introduced a new battery preconditioning system that improves charging time (especially in cold weather) from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes.
The new 2026 Solterra is available in four trims: Premium, Limited, Limited XT, and Touring XT. The new XT trim features improved front and rear motors, delivering a combined 388 hp. The Premium and Limited trims also get added power with up to 233 hp.
2026 Subaru Solterra trim | Starting Price (MSRP) |
Solterra Premium | $38,495 |
Solterra Limited | $41,395 |
Solterra Limited XT | $42,895 |
Solterra Touring XT | $45,555 |
Prices for the 2026 Subaru Solterra EV Premium start at $38,495, the same as the outgoing model, even with the upgrades. The Limited model is $600 less, starting at $41,395.
New to the 2026 Solterra lineup is the Touring XT trim. The new range-topping model features a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a radiant leg heater for the driver and front passenger. It starts at $45,555.
What do you think of the new and improved 2026 Subaru Solterra? Are you a fan of the upgrades? Either way, it feels like a step in the right direction from Subaru.
With the upgraded 2026 model arriving, Subaru is heavily discounting 2025 models. With leases starting at just $279 for month, the 2025 Solterra is currently even cheaper than the 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid.
