Lucid (LCID) promises to still offer the $7,500 EV credit for the Gravity SUV after the deadline

Lucid (LCID) promises to still offer the ,500 EV credit for the Gravity SUV after the deadline

Although the $7,500 federal EV tax credit is set to expire at the end of September, Lucid (LCID) will continue offering it for its new Gravity SUV.

Lucid extends $7,500 EV credit for the Gravity SUV

Through the new Lucid Advantage Credit, the company is promising to extend the $7,500 credit for those who lease the new Gravity SUV until the end of the year

If you place an order by September 30 and lease between October 1 and December 31, Lucid will offer the full $7,500 credit.

The company said the initiative is to “ensure an equivalent benefit remains for our Lucid Gravity lease customers who are unable to take delivery” by the deadline.

Why the Gravity? Well, according to Lucid, it’s because “you can have it all, and then some.” The Lucid Gravity delivers with 450 miles of driving range, three-row seating, 828 hp, and it moves like a sports car. You can even charge it up at Tesla Superchargers with ultra-fast charging speeds.

Lucid said you won’t have to take any extra steps to claim the credit. Customers will receive the full $7,500 value, regardless of government incentives.

Although a recent Automotive News report claimed Lucid had only nine Gravity registrations in its first six months, Lucid denied the claims, telling Electrek that deliveries are “well into the 3-digit range.” Nick Twork, Lucid’s head of communications, confirmed in an email to Electrek that the claim is “completely inaccurate.”

Twork explained that “a quick review of social media postings from our customers shows that those numbers are simply not credible.” Several readers have responded, stating that they have seen at least a few in areas such as Florida and California.

Either way, it wouldn’t be surprising to see other automakers follow Lucid’s lead in extending the credit. Most brands are offering pretty significant discounts on EVs ahead of the deadline.

Lucid is no exception. In addition to the $7,500 Lucid Advantage Credit, the EV maker is offering over $13,000 off 2025 Air models with leases starting from just $509 per month.
