Chevy’s electric pickup truck is getting its first Trail Boss trim. The new Trail Boss edition will join the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV lineup with added ground clearance, exclusive features, and up to 725 horsepower.
2026 Chevy Silverado EV Trail Boss price and specs
We knew it was coming soon after Chevy unveiled the Silverado EV ZR2 earlier this year, previewing a few off-road features expected in the Trail Boss trim.
Previously only available on the gas-powered Silverado and Colorado pickups, Chevy’s vice president, Scott Bell, said, “Adding Trail Boss to Silverado EV gives customers an option that builds on our strong truck pedigree, high electric range and off-road capability.”
The 2026 Chevy Silverado EV Trail Boss adds a rugged new look and added capability with a 2″ lift, enabling 24% higher ground clearance than the base model.
It also gains trim-exclusive design elements, including Trail Boss badging inside and out, 35″ all-terrain tires, a high-angle front end design, and red tow hooks.

The Trail Boss variant gains a new Terrain mode and fine-tuned suspension for better control and traction on rugged terrain. Also a trim-exclusive, the new mode unlocks sharper 4-wheel steer.
With the extended range battery pack, the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV Trail Boss can tow up to 12,500 lbs with a 2,100 lb max payload. The Max Range battery pack delivers up to 775 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque.

Like the LT trim, the Trail Boss edition will be available with Chevy’s Multi-Flex Midgate (shown above), enabling up to 10 feet and 10 inches of bed space.
GM’s Super Cruise is available with integrated Google Maps and new hands-on assisted driving functions. Chevy said Super Cruise will be available when towing with the LT and Trail Boss trims.
