Stanley Cup playoff odds: Panthers Cup favorites heading into Game 2

Clear favorites in both the Eastern and Western Conferences have taken shape as the Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars have seen their odds shorten after impressive Game 1 wins.

On Tuesday night, the Panthers controlled Game 1 against the Carolina Hurricanes to the tune of a 5-2 win, making the defending champions the current favorite to raise Lord Stanley’s Cup again. Game 2 is Thursday night.

The Dallas Stars reeled off five unanswered goals to climb out of a 3-1 deficit after the second period to take Game 1 against the Edmonton Oilers. The Stars are favored to win the West, and forward Mikko Rantanen is currently the Conn Smythe Trophy favorite ahead of Connor McDavid and Sergei Bobrovsky.
