Teenager arrested on suspicion of murdering his father near waterfall in California

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his father near a waterfall in the US.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said it was investigating the death of the man near Stoddard Canyon Falls in California’s San Gabriel Mountains.

Officers responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon on Saturday and found a man suffering “from trauma to his upper torso”.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s department said a man was seen driving away from the scene and later crashed a few miles away.

He was identified as the 19-year-old son of the victim and arrested on suspicion of murder, it added.
