'Targeted shootings' in Minnesota - as two politicians reportedly attacked

There have been “targeted shootings” in Minnesota, the state’s governor has said – as two politicians were reportedly attacked in their separate homes.

State senator John Hoffman and state representative Melissa Hortman were targeted, according to local news stations.

They are both members of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.

In a Facebook post, Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota, said: “I’ve been briefed this morning on an ongoing situation involving targeted shootings in Champlin and Brooklyn Park.

“The Minnesota Department of Public Safety and local law enforcement are on the scene. We will share more information soon.”
