Harshita Brella: Woman found dead in car boot in east London died from strangulation - as CCTV of murder suspect released

A woman whose body was found in the boot of a car last week died from strangulation, according to a post-mortem examination.

A manhunt is under way for Harshita Brella’s husband, Pankaj Lamba, who police believe has left the country.

Officers today released details of his car – a silver Vauxhall Corsa.

Ms Brella’s body was discovered in east London early on Thursday, nearly 100 miles from her home in Corby, Northamptonshire.

It’s understood the 24-year-old had been under the protection of a court order for victims of domestic abuse.

Police began searching for her after receiving a call with concerns for her welfare on 13 November – the day before she was found in London.

Officers now believe she was murdered in Corby by her husband on the evening of Sunday 10 November.
