“Multiple people” have been hit by shots fired near to where the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade was taking place, police have said.
The Chiefs’ were celebrating their weekend win against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas.
At least eight to 10 people were injured during the incident, which occurred near to a train station close to the event, police said.
The force said two armed people were taken into custody.
Video footage showed a chaotic scene outside the station as police officers stormed into the building while people who had been attending the Super Bowl celebration ran for safety.
“Shots were fired west of Union Station near the garage and multiple people were struck,” police said on X.
“We took two armed people into custody for more investigation.”
