Eurovision: UK act Olly Alexander gives fans a first look at his new single Dizzy

Olly Alexander, the UK’s Eurovision act, has shared a snippet of his new track Dizzy, which he will perform at the song contest in May.

The Years and Years frontman was announced last December as the UK’s entry for the 68th edition of the singing competition.

Posting a photo of himself on a swing on social media on Wednesday, Alexander announced the name of the song and said “my brand new single is coming March 1st!!”

Alexander added: “I actually can’t wait to perform this on the Eurovision stage.”

He later posted a 20-second teaser of the track in a video of himself singing the song – co-written with producer Danny L Harle – while dressed in a pin-striped outfit, wearing a large, orange and brown broach.

In the clip, the English pop star appears on a balcony and sings “won’t you make me dizzy for your kisses” and “will you take my hand and steer me”.

Alexander will perform Dizzy at the song contest in Malmo, Sweden, in May and will hope to perform better for the UK than the 2023 entry.

Mae Muller’s I Wrote A Song finished second from bottom in last year’s competition held in Liverpool.

The UK’s Eurovision entrants have mostly struggled in recent years, ending up in last place in 2021 and 2019.

However, Sam Ryder’s Spaceman soared in 2022, taking the UK to second place behind Ukraine.
