Taylor Swift: Man charged with harassment and stalking near star's New York home

A man has been charged with harassment and stalking following complaints about an “emotionally disturbed male acting erratically” in the vicinity of Taylor Swift’s home, US authorities have confirmed.

David Crowe, 33, from Seattle, Washington, was arrested near the pop star’s townhouse in the Tribeca neighbourhood in Lower Manhattan, New York, on Monday evening. He was then taken into custody, where he was charged.

A New York Police Department (NYPD) spokesperson said: “Officers were approached by multiple complainants who pointed out an emotionally disturbed male acting erratically at the location.

“Once officers observed the male harassing multiple complainants, they took him to custody without further incidents, no injuries were reported.”

Crowe was charged with two counts of harassment and two counts of stalking.

It comes after Swift‘s house appeared to be the target of an attempted break-in, when police arrested a man on the same street at the weekend.

Swift was watching her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, playing against the Buffalo Bills at an NFL playoff game held in Buffalo, New York, on Sunday.

Officers did not confirm if the suspect in the suspected break-in arrest was related to the harassment and stalking case.

UK vinyl sales highest since 1990 – as Taylor Swift leads the way

Taylor Swift has dominated the music world this year, and she’s doing it again – leading the vinyl sale top ten. Meanwhile, in other nostalgic news, Take That head up the best-selling CD albums.

This is not the first time Swift, a 12-time Grammy winner, has had problems with alleged “stalkers”, following incidents at her Tribeca property as well as homes she owns in California and Rhode Island.

In 2023, a man was arrested for drunkenly crashing a car into Swift’s New York building and allegedly was unsuccessful in his attempts to gain entry to the property.

In 2018, a man was found asleep at the property while the star was out.

Sky News has contacted representatives for Swift for comment.
