Fremantle says it has agreed settlement with David Walliams and apologises to former BGT judge

Production company Fremantle has agreed a settlement with David Walliams and said it is “sincerely sorry that his private conversations when a judge on Britain’s Got Talent were published”.

The comedian – who appeared on the ITV talent show between 2012 and last year, sued the company for misuse of private information and for breaching UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

High Court documents released last month revealed Walliams accused Fremantle of causing him psychiatric harm and financial loss.

Walliams left the show in 2022 after he apologised for “disrespectful comments” about auditioning contestants during filming breaks in January 2020 at the London Palladium.

Those remarks emerged in November last year after a transcript was leaked to the Guardian newspaper.
