White Sox SS Tim Anderson (knee) exits 4-3 win

MINNEAPOLIS —

Anderson was down for several minutes before getting up and staying in the game. He was replaced in the next inning by Romy González. The team announced Anderson is being further evaluated.

White Sox manager Pedro Grifol told reporters after the win that Anderson felt he could play through it initially, before the team decided to remove him. Grifol added that the club is “optimistic” about Anderson’s status.

The two-time All-Star is hitting .298 while playing in every game so far this season. Last month, he was part of the star-laden roster for Team USA, which finished second in the World Baseball Classic.

In the win, Hanser Alberto had a three-run home run and five pitchers combined to shut down the Twins.
