Marlins OF Chisholm injured after steal attempt

Chisholm slid headfirst into Farmer’s left leg and remained down on the field for a few minutes after the play.

He walked off with Miami manager Skip Schumaker and a trainer. Bryan De La Cruz replaced him in center field.

De La Cruz when 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored to help the Marlins defeat the Twins 5-2.

Chisholm said after the game that he plans to play Thursday in Miami’s first road game of the season against the New York Mets.

“I’m gonna be on that field until I can’t,” he said.
