Divers are searching the river and a police helicopter is circling the area close to where Nicola Bulley went missing more than three weeks ago.
Roads have also been cordoned off in the area along the River Wyre in St Michaels on Wyre, Lancashire.
It has been the focus of an intensive search operation since Ms Bulley, 45, was last seen at around 9.10am on 27 January whilst walking her dog.
Officers believed the mother-of-two fell into the river – although her friends and family claimed there was “no evidence whatsoever” behind the police theory.
