Mortuary abuser appears in court on 16 further charges

A double murderer who sexually abused dead bodies has appeared in court facing 16 more charges.

David Fuller, 68, murdered Wendy Knell and Caroline Pierce before sexually assaulting them in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, in 1987.

The electrician also filmed himself abusing corpses, including a nine-year-old girl and a 100-year-old woman, in hospital morgues over 12 years before his arrest in December 2020.

After further investigation, Kent Police has charged him with another 12 more counts of sexual penetration of a corpse, and four counts of possession of extreme pornography.

Fuller appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday morning via video link from HMP Frankland.

He entered no pleas and spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and current residence.

He will remain in prison and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 3 November.
